General Principles of Access and Use
Members do not need to book, but they should read these general principles and risk assessment, and any other guidance appearing on the Climbers’ Club website before setting off on their journey. The guidance is likely to change from time to time and will vary between England, Scotland and Wales. Members should familiarise themselves with the general rules that apply in the country in which they reside.
If on arrival the number of vehicles on site is found to equal to the numbers shown above, members are requested to find an alternative place to park to ensure social distancing is maintained for those members already on site.
Day use car parking is intended for members of the Climbers’ Club and their household group or support bubble only. The vehicle permitted for day use car parking should be the vehicle in which the member’s party travelled. Day use car parking for other vehicles or third persons is not permitted (*except for those noted below).
The public are not yet allowed to stay away from home overnight. For this reason, camping outside huts and/or staying in vans on site overnight is not permitted.
Travel for leisure and/or exercise (when permitted from the dates above) should remain local. Travel from one country to another for this purpose is not permitted.
Members using the site for day use car parking should not attempt to access the huts themselves under any circumstances.
Hut custodians and other regularly attend the huts to conduct routine checks and tests, and contractors are regularly employed by the Climbers’ Club to carry out work at the huts. The Climbers’ Club has a duty of care to ensure that these volunteers and contractors in the club’s employ may work safely by minimising the risk of coming into contact with other people who may be infected with Covid-19. Accordingly, members and guests parking for day use should observe social distancing from any other people on site.
